The website doesn’t mention that it filters pfas or chlorination byproduct chemicals, so it makes me weary. Perhaps shower filters have little oversight, too and that’s why they don’t report which “other chemicals” they filter. I do appreciate that they are trying to fill the information gap.

A few years ago, I saw a publication for Georgia (I think there might have been for each state but I certainly remember looking up our region) that stated the contaminants. At the time I subscribed to a news posting from, I think, the nature conservancy. I did not really need to ask, because in the nearby town, the water smells of bleach, and in 2 other ones, it doesn't smell, but there is so much farming around, and spraying of course, that it is impossible their water is clean. I am on a well myself and only use well water when it has rained sufficiently. Very few farming around, but quite some iron. In the last 2 years I have been using bottled water, but most of it is in plastic bottles, and 'purified', whatever that means! I prefer spring water but read years ago, that all water in the US is contaminated. They advised to buy Fiji water, which is very expensive if you drink as much as I do LOL
I had a whole house water softener system and reverse osmosis filtration system when I lived in GA. It was expensive to install but I never had to buy bottled water to avoid PFAs or other contaminants.
I am soooo tired of hearing the U.S. described as "the wealthiest nation in the world". You can't borrow yourself into prosperity, but that's exactly what we've done. Foreign nations own us because we are hundreds of trillions into debt to them through the sale of treasury bonds to finance our "wealthy" life style. I'm retired, have a comfortable, livable income, I can afford what I like to do and am healthy enough to do it, and NO debt - no car payment, no mortgage, a credit card balance that I pay off every month. Now that's wealth, and the peace of mind that debtors lack - and that includes the vast majority of the country.
And because we are called that, most people outside of the US think that everyone is wealthy! It took me years to convince my overseas family in Europe that there are lots of poor and very poor Americans, that there is a small margin that is not one or other way indebted, and that the few, may be 1 to 5%, have practically all the wealth and call America the wealthiest nation. If you see the debt, it sounds more like 'the most indebted nation' to me. Luckily I am like you in a situation that lets me live a decent life, and am glad to know several in that position.
They snuffed out dissent in the 60s and 70s, sold the left over humans greed and easy money (everybody get credit cards and white people get mortgages!) they splurge and develop all sorts of addictions (bread a circus baby) in the 90s, spend the early 2000s realizing they are actually broke, in debt, and locked into the system of modern slavery...any all of a sudden we all have mental health issues and over 70% of Americans are taking prescriptions medication on a daily basis...free fall the past 15 years, the empire gobbles up as much as possible and attempt to make us all believe the only hope is turning over our Bill of Rights to the 1% sugar daddies/mommas. There was a article last year about several cases of a brain parasite that people got from using tap water in their Neti pot and the article was bashing the victims of a brain parasite for not using distilled water.. my reaction was why the hell are there parasites in our drinking water? That should have been the story!
I had no idea my own state is on the list! I knew about some of the others, but my state is on the west coast and has many snow capped mountains in the winter? I assumed it was okay.

Our city almost got bamboozled ($) by a California bottled water company. They wanted to set up a plant to bottle our water and ship it back to California. They claimed it would provide jobs. We had 6 wells shut down because of PIFAS (fire department foam runoff). We really had to push to make the City Council stop considering it. The residents should ALWAYS BE THE FIRST CONSIDERATION. It only got tabled and the company could come back with a new offer. Jacque Cousteau warned that one day water would be the cause of wars. It is here. Mexico is turning off their spigot to Arizona.
How can we convince our government to fix our infrastructure, of which water is a very important part, if they are focused on war, world domination, and helping the capitalist class extract as much wealth from our comunitues as they can simply because their donors are the ones doing the extraction?

It's always best to match your filters with the known chemicals in your water as best you can!
