Great to see you are still active in this field. I would suggest a water filter such as the one I've used for several years. It's made by Britta and it's a performance level 4 under the sink kitchen water filter. They run close to 40 bucks but they're worth it. Thanks Erin🙂

THANKS AGAIN ERIN FOR TERRIFIC REPORTING OF FACTS & TRYING TO HELP ALL OF US! WE NEED IRL SOS-STRATEGIES; OBJECTIVES & SOLUTIONS BEFORE WE ALL FALL DOWN! ASHES & ALSO FROM COAL ASHES HEX CHROM 6 = WE WILL CONTINUE TO GET CANCER & SCIK! As we still wait for the polluting industries to do something or anything to protect neighbors & communities for years & decades to resolve OUR collective critical life-altering & needless suffering & contamiNATION of our shared water supplies, it continues to harm all our families & pets our condemNATION. NoBODY is safe or immune to water with poison filled plumes of gloom & doom. WE need to solve this poison filled critical problem w/ proven science & stop the carcinogens in our drinking water supplies & PROTECT OUR HEALTH TOGETHER!

Hexavalent chromium (or Chromium-6) is a cancer-causing pollutant which, after recently being detected in municipal drinking water, has been on EPA’s radar – as studies by the U.S. EPA and California found that drinking water with even minute amounts of hexavalent chromium is likely to increase one’s risk of cancer. What EPA has not mentioned, however, is that coal-fired power plants release almost ¼ of all of the chromium from all industries into the environment each year, and much of this ends up in unlined coal ash sites. The industry’s own research suggests that almost 100% of the chromium that then leaks from coal ash dumps and into groundwater is this carcinogenic hexavalent chromium. SO MANY REPORTS + SIGNIFICANT EVIDENCE OVER TIME THAT'S CAUSED PEOPLE TO LOSE THEIR HEALTH & LIVES. WE TESTIFIED ABOUT THESE POISONS IN COAL ASH IN D.C. IN 2011. COAL ASH & CHROMIUM 6 in our drinking water 2011, report by Earthjustice, Physicians for Social Responsibility, and Environmental Integrity Project documents the threat to health from chromium VI leaching from coal ash disposal sites across the country and provides yet another startling reason why EPA must strictly regulate coal ash disposal to prevent leaking of pollutants. What about the two generation study on “Reproductive outcomes for non-occupational exposure...” in the city of Willits? (2017 nih report.) The conclusion: “Adverse reproductive outcomes are elevated and consistent with animal studies. General health outcomes reflect the same broad effect reported for occupationally exposed workers. For the first time, the detrimental reproductive effects of non-occupational Cr(VI) exposure in human females and their infants is reported.”

I don’t think that there’s any more recent data, but it appears that people in Willits may still be being affected (and dying) as a result of years of exposure.
