Thank you for your attention to this important matter. My mother had implants in 1966, which caused her to develop an autoimmune response to the silicone that leached into her body. Brain, lungs, connective tissue, all over. She died at age 63, 5 years after having them removed. They were completely ruptured. Sticky silicone migrated to every single part of her body.

Dow granted her a settlement, which was put on an indefinite hold by the judge presiding over the cases. She only received one payment and died waiting for the rest. It's still in limbo after all these years.

As always, go get 'em.

You came to southwest Florida to address the Okeechobee water release pollution, which killed countless aquatic mammals, fish and other wildlife and their natural habitats. I was coming to see you in Fort Myers, but couldn't make it that day.

I love that you're shining a bright light on this extremely important issue as well. Thank you.

Amazing awareness article! Way to go Robyn Towt! We very much appreciate this because the public needs this information to make informed decisions. We at BISA Nonprofit will continue to advocate for informed consent and transparency. Like Robyn, I was not fully informed of the risks. I suffered for years with no answers. I removed my implants and started to regain my health. Now, we are taking action because Superman is definitely not coming. Join us! @BISAnonprofit

Loss of mothers, sisters and daughters please continue to help with your voice to stop 🛑 this abuse of women. For lack of knowledge if I only knew what I know now.

Thank you Erin. I was not informed of true risks as well. Insurance should pay for explant and lift for each and every one of us. We didn't ask for this.

Great awareness creation! Thanks for helping. I am 57 yrs old and had BII from my silicone implants. I had them removed by a Dr that specializes in explant and reconstruction and she did a fantastic job but I wasn’t totally happy with my now somewhat deflated breasts. I then learned about fat transfer to the breasts and saw Dr Bednar in Charlotte NC a couple years later. He works miracles with all types of breast reconstruction issues and now I have perfect full perky 38DD breasts still 3 years later. There are only a handful of Drs that do this procedure well, with this specific technique (one in Miami and one in TX) but I wanted to share my story to other women who are reluctant to have the explant for fear of the results. I don’t recall the names of the other two but there are Facebook groups that share names and results. Search Facebook for fat transfer to the breast or just get an appt with Dr Bednar. It’s not as easy as getting implants because it requires liposuction and wearing compression garments for several weeks after but it’s worth it.

Thank you, Robyn, for your tireless efforts on behalf of those of us who are so busy struggling to regain our health that we have not had the strength to advocate for this cause in such a tenacious fashion. You are truly a hero to so many. I know you have risked being maligned by those who do not agree with your efforts to raise awareness, but you remain undaunted and fearless in your fight for justice! Thanks you for empowering us all by insisting information is accessible! This is truly your life’s purpose and I know you have saved so many!

Robyn… thank you so much for your bravery and tenacity! I had breast implants put in by my 2 need husband who was a cosmetic surgeon over 30 years ago.. I was never told that you needed to have them replaced or checked. I started getting strange illnesses 10 years ago.. I tested off the charts for Rheumatoid Arthritis but the Rheumatologist’s that I saw said I did not have it even though I had pain all over my body. I was dx with Celiac disease, had vertigo for years and strange burning sensations all over my body. I had never heard of BII before. I did some research had many of the symptoms was so tired of going to every-kind of Doc in the world to figure out why I felt so bad and made the decision to get them out.. had to put it on a credit card.. $16,000 later I am finally regaining my health!!! Upon removal they found one had been leaking for Goddess knows how long. It is such BS that Surgeons can continue to put these toxic bombs in women's bodies and then charge us again to have them removed!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this. My saline breast implants ruined my life and my body for eight years. I had them removed 5 years ago and have most of my life back. But residual auto immune issues and food allergies that haven’t been cured but have gotten a lot better. The implants were absolutely crippling to me and I just wish I had known all the risks. I am so thankful to all the breast implant illness groups for leading me to my answer and getting my life back.

Thank you for what you are doing, I wish I was informed 14 years ago of the risks then I would not have done the implants! Now I need to save to have an explant that costs so much more! I have most of the BII symptoms and have been seeing a rheumatologist for 12 years, she has no clue what BII is or believe it my illnesses are due to my implants but I know the truth!!

Thank you for advocating for us all who have survived the devastating results of implants. It made me sick after I went back to my plastic surgeon following removal and most of his surgeries were done on women like me who were so sick from these implants to see advertisement for getting implants. You would think they would just stop putting them in but they say they now have a way to do it without it causing health risks. I am doubtful. I don’t believe there is a healthy implant only doctors who know this pays their bills. Do no harm is forgotten. The surgeons should have them look at the Breast implant illness and healing by Nicole website to make an informed decision.

I am a Breast implant illness survivor but with life long disabilities now. I work in the breast oncology department of a very large institution and in 2017 I was told my implant needed replacing. You see I am a triple negative breast cancer survivor. I had surgery and reconstruction work here they place a clear silicon implant in 1990. In 2017 they replaced my implant with the Gummy bear implant . One month later my hand and wrist swelled 10 times bigger. I had a fever and terrible pain for 2 years. 3 hospital visits.one hand surgery which wasn’t necessary. One day I saw the breast implant special on the tv. I wrote for the research and found out the plastic surgeon who did the implant replacement was part of a research study. When ai called him he said your implant has to come out now. He said I had breast implant illness. I went into surgery with a huge hand and came out normal. Between the breast implant illness triggering RA and the surgeon who did unauthorized trigger finger surgery I now have 2 crooked fingers and can’t use my right hand. Which is my dominant hand. I pray women of all ages see my comments so they know having implants is not the answer and it could ruin the rest of their lives.
