My granddaughter, Aubrey, designed and built a robot that won the county, won the state and was invited to Legoland in California to compete against the world. She won first place. She was 11 years old.

Thank goodness we have bright young people trying to clean up the mess their elders have left behind.

Today we learned the current administration just approved more forever chemicals to be used in US farming! And today we also read a hopeful and inspiring story about this 17 year old. We all must support more of this.

Outstanding! What a great, inspirational, story of what a motivated, curious mi d can do. Bravo! To use a popular phrase from the 90's 'you go, girl!'

This story is incredibly hopeful on so many levels. I wonder how the used biodegradable jute filter is disposed of, once it is full of contaminants? Or is it breaking down and transforming the toxic chemicals/particles to something inert? I may have missed this information during my hurried reading of this article.

Petroleum products are a huge problem for the environment. Now they are selling ground tires as mulch and under fake grass and playgrounds, playing fields. Don't use it.

I had heard about the issue and her research and response while listening to a radio show. Congratulations to her. Thanks for sharing this inspiring story.
