No surprises alas. The state can admit that their own citizens' water supply is being poisoned, but they're not motivated to do anything about it. All I can hear in my head is the sound of cash registers going Ka-CHING! We need to outlaw CAFOs or at least start a massive boycott of them and shut them down.

Data Centers + Agriculture's avatar

This is not anecdotal. Boardman, Oregon has a nitrate pollution problem that predates the data centers. Data centers now use recycled water for cooling in a region already struggling with excess nitrogen, and that water ultimately returns to a system used to irrigate farmland. The question I’m digging into is whether that process is concentrating or adding to an existing problem. Make it make sense.

Trump’s Stargate AI Project in Huge Trouble As $18 Billion Data Center Shrivels Toward Oblivion:

https://futurism.com/future-society/donal-trump-stargate-megaproject-ai-data-center-oracle-shrivels - Typically reserved for unexpected catastrophes like the outbreak of war, natural disaster, or massive social upheaval, Oracle invoked force majeure in order to shield itself from financial liability over the project’s failure to secure certain development permits.

Zooming out, the notice is being viewed by financial commentators as an attempt by Oracle to wriggle out of responsibility for upcoming payments in the increasingly likely event that the data center isn’t finished by 2028.

As important as this is, I want to report another serious problem that is breaking the backs of millions of Americans on the lower end of the earning scale nobody hears about. The Big Beautiful Bill has taken over student loans and raised the monthly payments to be as much as or more than rent. Why? Because when republicans deregulated finance crashing the economy not once, not twice but three times for those now in their 60's, forever bending their earning potential down, and the Grest Recession especially sucking up life time savings just to not be homeless and now AI threatening to take the lousy jobs we have managed to hold on to. To evade homelessness we have used every legal option to keep from defaulting meanwhile interest has accrued and student loan reps have tricked borrowers into higher interest rates by lying about to borrowers about their options. Trumps Dept of Education now under the Treasury Dept is going after borrowers earning below the cost of living for decades for payments over $1000 a month. I am one of those people and need help and can't find any help. Im invisible. Poor and in trouble and staring trumps money grabbing goons alone. Erin if you see this please know I am one amount millions and we need your help.
