question authority. how many times has your government and a for-profit company lied to you today? If "they" say it is safe, go buy water. "They" are incapable of truth-telling. period. I think we may need to go out on the streets to demand safe water, since the regulatory agencies of our government are compromised and the politicians are.....politicians. What they say and what is truth are usually two different realities.
We can sit here and poo poo these companies all day long (don't get me wrong, I too, want to pull out my pitchfork!) but I want to know what is being done to clean up these spills and/or address these issues to prevent them from causing further damage? Ok, so, fine, the perpetuators get fined, Crystal Geyser and Nestle come in to save the day (with their plastic bottles no less) and then what??? Politicians are way too busy campaigning for the next election cycle while we, the citizens, get stuck holding the cleanup bag. No, seriously, what happens next and what can we do to help clean up the mess? Plus, what's with the "bass-ackwardness" of the EPA anywsy? If something is referred to as a chemical, which is obv man-made then by default it should be deemed "toxic" and unsafe until proven otherwise, not the other way around...

America may be the center of the worst nightmare ever recorded in history regarding a political system designed to fail the environment.... but, please please, please... look outside of this daytime soap opera focused solely on themselves (politically), to find solid solutions centered around good solid governmental regulations designed by scientists who aren’t on some scumbag corporate agenda. America, right now, is the demonstrable heart of political corruption designed to fragment and destroy the civilizations that have been designed, over eons, to protect and care for Mother Earth. There are other worse capitalist and autocratically greedy destroyers of our earth, but, the most powerful nation on ‘our’ whole earth is disintegrating before the eyes of the whole world. Bigger, better, and more ....at the expense of every beautiful natural thing on our earth is the American motto.
We, the rest of the planet implore the human civilized portion of America who have any forward thinking smarts to embrace our common future, making sure that earth is the focus. Preservation of our planet is our global focus.
Please, with the power of your whole nation, focus and embrace the WHOLE planet, not just the stinking corporate greed localized and on global display in your nation... think globally... your whole, most powerful nation in the world, with all your absolutely poignant problems is giving the whole world heartburn.
