We have an environmental disaster in Hawaii. The navy fuel tanks have leaked into the water system. I told many to contact you about it. It looks like a sequel to your movie. The navy probably knew about it a long time ago and did nothing. The spill I think is worse than they are telling us. Please come and investigate it. We’re talking about many families who have symptoms and sickness from the spill.

Much Aloha!

I did think we were "legal," but thanks for the point about legal not equalling "healthy." We installed H2O Only and now, Blue Planet Water filters. They need changing again. Do you recommend good water filter installers or products in this area? IN the Lower Rio Grande Valley, I think there is some "dumping" of substandard products going on, as when I shopped for appliances a few years ago, the sales people in stores didn't know about Energy Star ratings, and thought higher was "better!" (in consumption or usage stats!!) This is horrible and having taught at universities here over 15 years, I had many illiterate students, in two languages. Send someone down here to investigate us! We just had major new water lines installed in our whole neighborhood about ten blocks square. Plastic instead of old ? copper and ? lead? pipes? Who knows! ?? Am I OK with filters form Blue Planet Water? What do you recommend?

Hi Sally, You can read all of Erin's thoughts on water filters at this post: https://www.thebrockovichreport.com/p/q-what-water-filter-is-best

It's less about having the "best" kind of filter and more about matching the contaminants in your water to the appropriate filter. That's why we're so happy about the EWG database so you can easily access this info. And yes, many water filters do require regular maintenance and regular replacements, particularly if your water has buildup of toxins, heavy metals, etc.

Hi Nahalia, There's a great book you might want to check out: https://www.amazon.com/Waste-Womans-Against-Americas-Secret/dp/1620976080 We are working on getting an interview with Catherine for the newsletter soon to talk more about these issues. A quick Google search showed your town was having issues with sewage which is surprisingly common.
