Well, I'm under direct attack. My neighborhood has been deteriorating for 25 years; I've finally heard a Professional Bad Neighbor confess doing much of the vandalism, gossip, etc. For years he was working on a dog rescuer and leaving dead animals in the road. After buying two acres next to my property from the dog rescuer, he learned that Glyphosate Awareness is my cause and immediately started exercising his "right to spray." He sprayed that field when the temperature had been below freezing for a week. He sprayed early in the mornings of Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, when my family (such as are left of it) traditionally gather and celebrate. So glyphosate is still about the only issue I have the energy to think about.
I've sworn and vowed that Glyphosate Awareness will never fund-raise or advertise, but an Internet connection (yearly contract, <$100/month) plus a few cameras and/or drones could save some animals and revitalize the movement. (It seems people less intimately involved with the movement are settling for Bayer's tired old whine about pulling glyphosate off the market in a few more years...they pulled it in 2020 but this administration let them bring it back, so now it's being actively marketed by every company Bayer and whoever else can sell it to.)

So, the proposed Maine legislation does not "ban spreading biosolids or sludge as fertilizer on farmland." It only bans sludge that has tested above state limits for PFAS (are those limits appropriate?) and ignores hundreds of other toxic pollutant contaminants known to also be potentially present in sludge. It is not a solution to the pollution being caused by sludge applications every day. Only a total ban will end this disgraceful era of intentionally poisoning the food we grow and the farm ecosystems where this has been occurring.
