That was a really special conversation with Erin Brockovich. Feel so fortunate to have seen! She’s sharper than ever, and her expertise has never been needed more than at this moment/time. TY for this. Hopefully so many more will watch your talk with her!

When the local authorities advise people not to eat recreationally harvested shellfish due to “bacteria contamination” is there a specific question we can ask to know if it’s warming waters or sewage failure? I imagine it could be both! I am moving to Bellingham/Chuckanut Bay-area in WA State next month and noticed a recent shellfish and no swim on Lake Whatcom advisory. However, I’m super thrilled to see an initiative on the ballot in my new home town for an increase in water rate s to upgrade the water infrastructure. 🤞

That area does have a Recreational Shellfish Program that monitors shellfish and beaches for biotoxins, vibrio, and pollution. You can learn more here: https://doh.wa.gov/about-us/programs-and-services/environmental-public-health/environmental-health-and-safety/about-shellfish-program/about-recreational-shellfish-program

And yay for investing in water infrastructure!
