Thank you for sharing this. My dear friend / stepmom/ second mother Jeanne died from pancreatic cancer in 2018. When I went through her stuff, I saw she had so many pans that she had been cooking with, and half the teflon was half scraped off, and I can't help wondering if the PFAS contributed to her cancer. I think she cooked with tap water, too. After her death, her neighbor told me their area was deemed a superfund site (thanks to Intel dumping toxic waste). That area was so toxic, pregnant women weren't allowed to work on the first floor at google across the street. Every time people tried to talk about it on Nextdoor, the posts mysteriously disappeared. The level of corruption that big corporations get away with is insane. You are right, superman is not coming (I'm halfway into your (audio)book, thank you for making it). We all need to get into the ring and fight for our rights to clean water and products that either don't kill us, or have proper warning labels on them.

Thank you to those who work so hard. My home was recently added to the PFAS program for well and groundwater testing and it was found in our well water, our only source of water for drinking, bathing, watering, dishes etc. We drank from our well for 13 years before the POET system was put in. Quarterly monitoring takes place. I am now leading a fight for toxic chemical contamination TFM from Fish and Wildlife to kill small lamprey in our rivers. This chemical is directly poured into our river right next to my well with no notification. It has been going on for decades and no one knew. I am feeling so alone as I work with towns, elected officials, the paper and media. I recently placed a complaint with EPA. Any help would be appreciated.
I spent my 27 year career as a firefighter ('74-'01) spraying thousands of gallons of PFOS around the world that are still where I sprayed them. I feel lucky that I have "only" had thyroid cancer, a couple skin cancers, and high cholesterol that is not naturally controlled (an important difference from dietary/lifestyle high cholesterol). it's now been over 20 years since I last contacted PFOS (I checked all my sources) and as of 2022 I still have over 16 ng/mL of PFOS in my blood. my total PFAS load is over 22 ng/mL. fortunately the local water tests ND for any PFAS since they added GAC filtration in 2015.

So sorry for your loss! Too many good people have left us & these toxins are still around.
Bad audio. Too difficult a listen.
We did our best with 3 people on the line. I’ll try to post a transcipt in the morning, if that helps.
Yes, thank you!
